About me

I opened Burlingame Dental in 2012 with a simple belief: every patient deserves full attention and gentle care. That is why we see only one patient at a time. When you are here, our whole team focuses entirely on you. There is no rushing, no distractions—just calm, careful dentistry at your own pace.

Education and Expertise

My journey in dentistry began when I left my home in South Korea at age 15 to study abroad in Canada. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2004, then went on to receive both my Master’s in Public Health and my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia University. I continue expanding my skills through courses in implants, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, and preventive care.

Professional Achievements

I am proud to be a member of the Special Care Dentistry Association, which focuses on hospital dentistry, care for people with disabilities, and geriatric dentistry. I also belong to the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Mateo County Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and American Academy of Clear Aligners as an Invisalign provider.

Personal Life

My family lives in the Los Altos area, and I am deeply involved in my three children’s public schools. I have a personal connection to the special needs community through my son Martin, and I proudly support The Autism Society San Francisco Bay Area. When I am not at the office, you can find me hiking, practicing piano with Martin, making bibimbap and kimbap with my son Alan, reading comics with my daughter Ramona, or helping my husband Youngin brew Korean traditional wine.
